Staff Product Designer

Role Overview

As a Staff Product Designer at BetterUp, you will own the full Growth surface, driving experimentation velocity and defining the end-to-end experience for new users.

Responsibilities

• Own the design strategy and execution for BetterUp’s Growth surface, including conversion, onboarding, and communication experiences.
• Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists, and Marketing to:
  • Increase the speed of experimentation
  • Improve the quality of design craft
  • Shape the product direction and long-term roadmap
• Mentor designers and elevate design quality across the Growth team through:
  • Critique and actionable feedback
  • Practical guidance and leadership in design

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to influence product direction at a senior leadership level.
• 7+ years of product design experience with meaningful depth in:
  • Growth
  • Conversion optimization
  • Funnel-stage product surfaces
• Proven ability to run and learn from high-cadence design experiments (comfortable shipping fast and iterating on signal).
• Portfolio showing strong interaction design craft and a data-informed approach.
• Strong communication skills and a track record of aligning stakeholders on a shared design vision.
• Experience mentoring designers and fostering both autonomy and alignment on cross-functional teams.
• Experience designing onboarding flows, email/notification systems, and auth experiences for consumer or B2B SaaS.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity with curiosity, clarity, and conviction.
