Role overview

Staff Platform Engineer at Joko (full remote from Paris, France). You will lead platform efforts across infrastructure, monitoring, cost and performance optimization, developer experience, security, and provide technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

Infrastructure: Improve production infrastructure for scalability and resilience, supporting growth without sacrificing stability.
Monitoring & alerting: Build best-in-class observability and a smarter alerting strategy to improve incident response and on-call quality.
Cost & performance: Optimize architecture to balance reliability, performance, and cloud costs, and make infrastructure efficiency measurable.
Developer experience & security (as part of platform scope): Drive improvements to developer experience and strengthen platform security.
Technical leadership: Shape and lead platform initiatives and guide technical direction.

Requirements

Experience leading platform/infrastructure work with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.
Expertise in observability/monitoring and alerting strategy for better incident response.
Ability to optimize cost and performance in cloud-based architectures.

Nice-to-haves

Strong record of improving developer experience and advancing security practices within platform teams.
