Role Overview

Staff Platform Engineer, AI Enablement (Infrastructure)

You will design, build, and improve the foundational systems and tooling that let Zocdoc engineering teams ship software safely, efficiently, and with confidence. The role focuses on hands-on technical leadership and translating platform strategy into adoptable, friction-reducing solutions that improve reliability, consistency, and developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure, scalable platform services and solutions, including:
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • developer tooling
  • shared infrastructure patterns
• Provide technical direction for Zocdoc’s internal developer platform ("paved roads," tooling, shared workflows).
• Collaborate across teams to:
  • identify real developer pain points
  • validate platform bets
  • drive adoption of platform capabilities
• Own and deliver high-impact platform investments end-to-end (problem framing → implementation → rollout).
• Improve measurable developer outcomes such as:
  • build times
  • deployment safety
  • feedback loops
  • operational simplicity
• Apply platform-as-product thinking to internal tooling.
• Enable developer workflows across frontend, backend, and mobile through abstractions that reduce operational complexity and improve testability and safety.
