Staff Platform Architect

Role Overview

Join Alteryx as a Staff Platform Architect, leading cross-cutting architectural initiatives across the entire software stack. You will partner with product, platform, and infrastructure teams to translate complex changes into concrete, deliverable systems that improve adaptability, safety of platform evolution, and organizational scaling.

Key Missions

• Lead transversal architecture initiatives spanning end-to-end stack capabilities, from platform capabilities to application integration.
• Drive large-scale technical changes impacting multiple teams and systems (e.g., migrations, re-architectures, and platform changes).
• Ensure consistent execution across the software ecosystem by translating infrastructure/platform changes into actionable requirements for application teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage the impact across services and teams.
• Lead cross-team alignment and execution for system-wide evolution.
• Engage hands-on to unblock teams, validate architectural ideas, and work directly with systems.

Requirements

• Experience building and evolving complex distributed systems across multiple teams.
• Ability to reason about system interactions, APIs, and integration points at scale.
• Strong software engineering background.
• Proven track record leading large-scale technical changes and cross-cutting initiatives (e.g., cloud migration, architecture evolution).
• Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, drive alignment, and communicate effectively across diverse technical domains.
• Strong architectural judgment and hands-on mindset.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (with GCP preferred), Kubernetes, and distributed systems; ability to translate infrastructure concerns into software architecture decisions.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience defining internal platform standards or developer workflows.
• Background in data platforms or analytics systems.
• Familiarity with internal developer platforms (IDPs).
• Experience operating in ambiguous environments with evolving constraints.
