Role Overview

Key Missions

• Define and execute the ML strategy, identifying opportunities to improve personalization and recommendation quality.
• Architect and lead development of next-generation large-scale ML techniques.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to define ML roadmaps.
• Mentor and uplift the team’s technical capabilities.
• Influence and shape AI-driven systems across Reddit.
• Design, implement, and optimize scalable ML architectures, from distributed training to real-time inference.
• Build and evolve ML infrastructure for high-performance computing and cloud-based ML pipelines.

Requirements

• Demonstrated leadership in driving ML strategy, mentoring engineers, and influencing cross-functional teams.
• Expertise in modern deep learning architectures, including sequence models and foundational models.
• 8+ years of machine learning engineering experience, focused on large-scale ML systems and recommendation/personalization.
• Experience with A/B testing, model evaluation frameworks, and real-time feedback loops in production.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python, C++, or similar.
• Strong communication skills; can present complex ML concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of multi-entity relationships in ML and how to model them in large-scale systems.
