Role overview

Join Reddit as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer (Notifications Relevance). You will lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of large-scale recommendation systems, improving core capabilities and deploying ML models at massive scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement algorithms for content discovery to support Reddit growth.
• Deeply understand the Reddit Notifications product and drive the team’s relevance vision.
• Serve as an ML expert: make architectural decisions and deploy state-of-the-art models at scale.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to find technical solutions to complex ML challenges.
• Identify high-impact opportunities, define roadmaps, and drive scalable improvements in notifications relevance.

Requirements

• 8+ years of industry experience with deep expertise in large-scale recommendation systems (notifications experience preferred).
• Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming with Python and Golang.
• Proven experience building and deploying large-scale ML models using frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience working with LLMs in production and using generative AI to augment recommendation systems.

Nice to haves

• Experience with state-of-the-art model architectures.
• Experience building production agentic AI frameworks.
• Proven ability to operationalize model improvements into production systems.
