About the role

Role overview

Join the Dynamic World Perception team as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer. You will lead long-range detection development and enhance perception capabilities to meet safety and performance standards, while driving cross-functional workstreams and technical direction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of long-range detection capabilities.
  • Deliver state-of-the-art closed- and open-world detection capabilities.
  • Expand and fuse existing detection models.
  • Improve model frameworks and data pipelines.
  • Develop robust onboard deployment software, optimized for real-time, resource-constrained, and safety-critical environments.
  • Drive cross-functional features/workstreams and align stakeholders through strong communication and presentation.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in software engineering and ML algorithm design.
  • Experience delivering detection, segmentation, and/or tracking for real-time robotic applications.
  • Extensive experience architecting, training, and deploying deep learning models in real environments.
  • C++ experience.
  • Fluency in Python.
  • Proven track record taking applied research from conception and problem definition through experimentation and iteration to publication or productization.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience with sensor fusion (highly desirable).
