Staff iOS Software Engineer

Staff iOS Software Engineer (12-month contract, 100% remote)

Provide technical leadership and hands-on development for a widely used native iOS application. Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality features impacting millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain features for a large-scale native iOS app
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable Swift code; troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
• Conduct code reviews and help maintain high standards for code quality, performance, and reliability
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver new functionality and improve existing features
• Analyze app performance, investigate crashes, and implement improvements to stability and UX
• Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests
• Mentor engineers and share technical knowledge; contribute to engineering best practices
• Evaluate user behavior and run experiments to improve engagement and product usability
• Collaborate effectively with a distributed team across multiple time zones

Requirements

• Extensive experience building and shipping production native iOS applications
• Expert proficiency in Swift, including strong experience with SwiftUI and UIKit
• Solid understanding of modern web technologies: HTTP, HTML, and JavaScript
• Experience working in large, complex codebases and understanding existing architecture quickly
• Strong background writing and maintaining automated testing frameworks (unit + integration)
• Passion for high-quality software and continuous improvement of engineering practices
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
