Role Overview

Staff iOS Engineer (remote)

OpenSea is building the mobile experience for millions of users discovering and trading digital assets. You will own iOS development end-to-end—from architecture and feature work to performance optimization and AI-assisted tooling—helping shape the future of OpenSea’s iOS platform.

Responsibilities

Lead major design and development efforts for the OpenSea iOS app, driving a modern, scalable, and maintainable SwiftUI codebase using SwiftUI + MVVM
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to deliver seamless, user-friendly mobile experiences
Own features from conception through deployment
Contribute to the architecture and evolution of the mobile codebase, including cross-platform components when applicable
Integrate with GraphQL APIs and implement real-time data updates for dynamic, responsive UIs
Advocate for and adopt AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality
Provide technical leadership and propose innovative solutions for the mobile platform

Requirements

Deep expertise in Swift and SwiftUI, with strong understanding of MVVM and modern iOS frameworks
Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMP) and interest in cross-platform shared code
Strong understanding of API-driven mobile apps using REST and GraphQL
Systems engineering mindset; able to tackle both frontend and backend challenges within mobile development
Hands-on experience with real-time data updates and complex UI interactions
Proven track record of adopting AI tools to increase development productivity
Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on shipping polished features
High ownership and ability to execute end-to-end

Nice to Have

Prior experience in fintech or crypto products

Compensation & Benefits

US base salary range: $180,000–$270,000 + benefits & equity (varies by level and qualification)
Remote US or Remote EU employment; compensation for international candidates varies by local market conditions
