Staff Fullstack Engineer

Role overview

Staff Fullstack Engineer (high-bar IC) on a team building Data APIs, custom visualizations, and AI products central to how hoteliers understand and act on revenue data. You’ll own work end-to-end, apply strong engineering judgment to legacy systems, and mentor engineers to raise team quality.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship full-stack features end-to-end, partnering with Product to understand problems and translate PRDs into well-scoped work.
• Think through edge cases and deliver through production monitoring and support.
• Experiment with AI-assisted workflows across the development lifecycle (PRD → tickets → implementation) and use AI development tooling responsibly and effectively.
• Navigate and improve legacy code safely, understanding intent and minimizing downstream risk.
• Build new systems from scratch when needed, with strong systems thinking about component design and data flow.
• Develop deep fluency in Duetto’s data and the hospitality domain to inform better product and technical decisions.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, and day-to-day craft conversations to raise the team’s bar.

Requirements

• Demonstrated senior full-stack experience with production delivery across both backend and frontend layers.
• Experience acting as a technical lead on multiple projects shipped to production.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and improve team-wide engineering quality.
• Strong Java proficiency.
• Frontend capability to ship frontend work independently (not necessarily a specialist).
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining Data APIs.
• SQL and NoSQL database proficiency.
• Strong systems thinking and trade-off awareness.
• Experience in B2C products with strong UX sensibility or substantial enterprise software experience.

Nice to have

• React, TypeScript, GraphQL.
• Familiarity with AWS.
• Experience with data modeling and complex domain-specific data models.
• Enterprise/SaaS background and/or hospitality technology experience.
