Staff Frontend Software Engineer

Role Overview

Future is hiring a Senior or Staff Frontend Software Engineer to own the member-facing experience. This is a full ownership role focused on how members interact with coaches, track progress, and stay motivated—working closely with product and design on a small, senior team.

What You’ll Own

Product & Experience

• Own the frontend architecture and implementation of the core member-facing product.
• Partner with product and design to translate vision into polished, performant interfaces.
• Build with members in mind: load times, interaction feel, and the details that create an engaging experience.

Engineering Excellence

• Set the standard for frontend code quality, component architecture, and design system usage.
• Build for scale so next engineers can extend and ship confidently.
• Instrument the frontend for performance and reliability, and detect issues before members do.

AI as a Force Multiplier

• Use AI to speed up prototyping, code review, and documentation, while applying judgment to refine output.
• Contribute ideas for weaving AI into the member experience (e.g., personalization, intelligent UI, adaptive coaching flows).

Who You Are

• 5+ years of frontend engineering experience, with meaningful work on consumer-facing mobile or web products.
• Deep expertise in React Native or React, TypeScript, and modern state management.
• Strong design sensibility (can work from Figma and spot issues).
• Experienced at Senior/Staff level (or performing at that level).
• Experience in a fast-moving startup with sound tradeoffs between polish and velocity.

Nice to Have

• Experience with health/wellness consumer apps.
• Experience building AI-powered or personalized product experiences.
• Familiarity with mobile performance optimization at scale.

Compensation

• Base salary: $185,000–$225,000 per year (base salary range).
