Staff Frontend Engineer - US (Remote)

Role Overview

As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you’ll be the technical authority for the frontend platform—a React-based micro-frontend architecture serving thousands of real estate businesses. You’ll set frontend standards for both AI agents and human engineers, evolve the design system, and lead migration from legacy UI libraries to a modern Tailwind-based component library.

Responsibilities

• Frontend platform architecture
  • Lead the technical direction of a React micro-frontend platform built on single-spa.
  • Make key decisions on module federation, code splitting, and scaling frontend architecture across a growing product surface.
• Drive the design system forward
  • Shape the evolution of a Radix + Tailwind CSS component library in a monorepo.
  • Establish accessible, token-driven components and keep the Figma-to-code pipeline tight.
• Lead frontend migration
  • Define the strategy and pace for migrating from Material-UI and styled-components to a modern system using Tailwind CSS, Radix UI, and design tokens.
• Ship AI-native product experiences
  • Partner with product, design, and AI teams to deliver intelligent frontend features leveraging LLMs/agent frameworks and real-time data (e.g., site builder, property search with maps and geospatial tools).
• Define frontend engineering standards
  • Set standards for Storybook, Vitest, Biome linting rules, and bundle size budgets.
  • Evolve how AI agents integrate into the frontend development workflow.
• Mentor and elevate engineers
  • Raise the frontend bar across teams, coach through hard design problems, and influence career growth.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering (posting truncated, but experience requirement is indicated).
• You build with AI daily and use Claude Code as a core workflow tool.
• Strong, well-reasoned opinions about how AI changes software architecture, team structure, and engineering culture.
• Systems thinking and ability to connect technical choices to customer outcomes and business value.
• Clear communication with product/design/executive stakeholders; can explain tradeoffs.
• Thrives in ambiguity and fast growth; enjoys ownership and iteration.
