Staff Frontend Engineer (Observability Drilldown, EMEA)

Role Overview

As a Staff Frontend Engineer on the Drilldown team, you will build intuitive, guided workflows for exploring complex telemetry. You’ll design and maintain user experiences, integrate with other parts of the Grafana ecosystem, and help improve the overall product.

Key Missions

• Design and maintain user experiences for guided telemetry exploration.
• Collaborate with the team and stakeholders to deliver new features and improve workflows.
• Lead projects from design through implementation, incorporating ongoing customer support.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve integrated frontend application experiences.
• Translate ideas into prototypes, polished UIs, and production-ready features.
• Improve product workflows iteratively using user and feedback loops.
• Apply best-in-class engineering practices across maintainability, accessibility, performance, and testing.

Requirements

• Strong product design/usability sense and ability to contribute creatively to user workflows.
• Deep experience building integrated frontend applications with React and TypeScript using modern patterns and best practices.
• Excellent remote-first communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to break down complex challenges into modular solutions and short feedback loops (analyze → design → build → gather feedback → iterate).
• Expertise in maintainable architectures, accessibility, performance optimization, and automation-based testing strategies.

Nice to Have

• Experience with OpenTelemetry.
