Role Overview

Staff Frontend Engineer (eBay Live) at eBay. You’ll help build and evolve eBay Live, the company’s live shopping experience connecting buyers and sellers through real-time interaction.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into clean, efficient, extensible and maintainable frontend design and implementations.
• Own a large functional area with deep expertise; influence and guide technical decisions across domain teams.
• Improve team productivity by identifying and evangelizing opportunities.
• Design for change in areas likely to evolve, improving engineering velocity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver solutions aligned to development goals.
• Use evidence-centered design to make features testable, maintaining high quality and supporting continuous delivery.
• Break down project features into sub-tasks; identify and resolve issues to ensure efficient execution.
• Provide technical guidance: code reviews, contribute/review Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), and mentor/coaching across teams.
• Identify system and functional gaps, propose solutions, build/drive the engineering roadmap.
• Lead engineering support, release, and on-call responsibilities for a 24/7 “always-on” site.
