Staff Frontend Engineer

Role Overview

Join ClickUp as a Staff Frontend Engineer. You will lead the design and development of major frontend systems and product initiatives, partnering across teams to solve complex technical challenges and shape the direction of ClickUp’s frontend architecture.

Key Missions & Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of major frontend systems and product initiatives across teams.
• Architect scalable, reusable frontend patterns that improve product quality and developer velocity.
• Drive engineering best practices for frontend development.
• Mentor engineers and raise frontend craftsmanship across the team.
• Improve how frontend teams collaborate across domains.

Requirements

• 7+ years of frontend engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in Angular 2+ and React.
• Experience building reusable component systems and scalable frontend application structures.
• Strong mentorship skills with a track record of leveling up other engineers.
• Strong testing experience: unit, integration, and end-to-end (e.g., Jest, Vitest, Playwright) and ability to define testing strategies.
• Deep knowledge of performance optimization, debugging, and building for large-scale web applications.
• Strong command of TypeScript, RxJS, NgRx, and modern frontend architecture patterns.
• Excellent communication and execution, especially in high-urgency environments.
• Demonstrated success leading major technical initiatives and influencing across teams.
