Role Overview

Staff Forward Deployed Engineer (Artificial Intelligence) at SentinelOne. You will extend engineering capacity directly into multiple departments by scoping problems with stakeholders and building custom applications quickly. The job emphasizes hands-on full-stack engineering, rapid prototyping with modern AI tools, and managing trade-offs between scope, speed, and quality.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

Engage stakeholders to understand needs and design tailored applications.
Develop and deliver end-to-end applications from design/architecture through production.
Collaborate with IT, Security, and Data teams to ensure applications meet company standards for compliance and long-term supportability.
Work autonomously across shifting priorities and ambiguous problem spaces.

Requirements

5+ years professional software engineering experience.
Proven ability to design, build, and ship full-stack applications independently (frontend + backend).
Comfort operating with significant autonomy and changing priorities across departments.
Experience working with non-technical stakeholders to scope ambiguous requests, manage expectations, and deliver tangible outcomes.
Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants/LLM-based tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) to accelerate development.
Working knowledge of APIs, webhooks, data structures, and integration patterns.
Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Python, Node.js/JavaScript, or comparable) plus enough frontend ability to build usable internal tools.
Strong communication skills to explain technical trade-offs to technical and functional leadership.

Nice to Have

Exposure to enterprise security, compliance, and/or data governance requirements.
Experience in forward-deployed / solutions engineering / professional services / startup generalist roles—owning a project from discovery through production.
