Staff Forward Deploy Engineer (Full Stack, Java/React)

Role overview

Staff Forward Deploy Engineer (Full Stack, Java/React) at SentinelOne bridging the gap between customers and the product. You will own customer engagements end-to-end, design and deliver integrations, and contribute to the core product while leading technically and mentoring other engineers.

Key missions

• Engage with customers to understand their environments and translate ambiguous requirements into concrete solutions.
• Design and deliver integrations connecting SentinelOne products to customer environments, including producing required documentation (e.g., runbooks).
• Lead substantial end-to-end work under ambiguity with multiple stakeholders, ensuring high-quality, secure code.

Responsibilities

• Own customer integration and deployment engagements end-to-end.
• Lead technically across unfamiliar codebases and complex, messy problem spaces.
• Mentor other engineers and help shape the Forward Deploy Engineering team.
• Build elegant, concise, readable code; write modern Java (including lambdas) and prefer composition over inheritance.
• Contribute to and operate distributed systems / data-intensive services.
• Communicate clearly with both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

• Deep proficiency in at least one production language; Java strongly preferred (5+ years).
• Comfort working in at least one additional language.
• Strong computer science background and 6+ years engineering experience covering both backend and frontend.
• Experience working directly with customers or senior stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead substantial end-to-end work under ambiguity with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to deliver solutions thoughtfully rather than chasing perfection at the expense of timelines (e.g., ship a well-thought-out 80%).
• Distributed systems and/or data-intensive services expertise.

Nice to have

• Experience in cybersecurity domain (e.g., SIEM, EDR/XDR, log pipelines, detection engineering, threat hunting).
• Familiarity with modern tech typically used in the role: Java, React, TypeScript, Kafka, Redis, GraphQL, Node.js, and SentinelOne’s platform.
