About the role
Role Overview
Staff Engineer, Cloud Scalability (Full Remote)
You will lead the optimization, monitoring, and tuning of Hypori’s existing cloud infrastructure to improve availability, scalability, and platform performance for rapidly growing global traffic.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cloud infrastructure optimization, monitoring, and tuning to improve platform availability and scalability.
- Define and enforce best practices for scalability, reliability, observability, and infrastructure resilience.
- Conduct architectural reviews across engineering teams.
- Partner with engineering teams on microservice infrastructure implementation.
- Lead incident response for high-severity cloud infrastructure issues.
- Drive capacity planning, performance optimization, and architectural reviews.
Requirements
- 5+ years in cloud engineering, SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles.
- Experience designing/using profiling tools and performance test frameworks (e.g., AppDynamics, Jaeger, VisualVM).
- Strong Infrastructure as Code skills (e.g., Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation).
- Experience with high-traffic, globally distributed environments.
- Experience with zero-downtime migrations and multi-region deployments.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and service mesh technologies.
- Strong scripting/automation experience in Python, Bash, Go, or similar.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, caching, event-driven architecture, and performance tuning.
- Deep familiarity with AWS native services, including ECS, EC2, EKS, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch, KMS, RDS (and related configurations).
- Excellent diagnostic/problem-solving abilities in large-scale distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (e.g., Bitbucket, GitHub, Jenkins).
- US citizenship or green card holder.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
Nice to Have
- AWS Professional certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect / AWS DevOps Engineer).
