About the role
Role Overview
Join Pinterest as a Staff Data Scientist (Ads Product) to drive Ads Product Strategy across the platform. You’ll use business and product acumen to uncover opportunities, generate data-driven insights, and partner with stakeholders to make impactful decisions.
Key Missions / Responsibilities
- Lead the Ads Product strategy by proactively identifying opportunities and producing data-based insights.
- Translate complex business needs into data solutions by collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ensure data trustworthiness and quality by defining and maintaining high standards for data integrity.
- Connect financial outcomes with product performance and communicate insights for impact.
- Elevate and support data science practices and contribute to data science/analytics process improvements.
Requirements
- SQL and Python proficiency.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
- Ability to influence cross-functional partners and senior leadership using strong data narratives.
- Expertise in data democratization, including designing/maintaining foundational datasets and building BI solutions.
- Understanding of the ads ecosystem, including monetization mechanics and/or real-time bidding (RTB), with interest in the financial aspects.
- Strong fundamentals in statistics and experimentation; ability to interpret/apply insights from causal inference techniques.
- 8+ years combined post-graduate academic and industry experience applying advanced analytics on large-scale data (preferably in fast-paced tech).
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in a quantitative field (Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics) or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience specifically in Ads/Data science within a high-growth, fast-moving tech environment.
