About the role

Role overview

Staff Backend Software Engineer (Full remote) at Cloudera. You will design, build, and maintain infrastructure tooling that extends Taikun across the cloud-native ecosystem, working on providers, Kubernetes components, CLI tools, and pipeline automation.

Key missions

Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Taikun Terraform provider and the Taikun Crossplane provider.
Work on the Taikun Kubernetes autoscaler and associated CLI tools.
Develop Go-based microservices to support infrastructure tools.
Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth integration with the Taikun backend and platform.

Responsibilities

Design and implement infrastructure tooling in collaboration with other teams.
Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
Write and run tests for delivered changes.

Requirements

6+ years experience building backend services or CLI tools.
BSc/MSc (or equivalent) in a related field.
Willingness to work with and learn Terraform (OpenTofu) and Crossplane.
Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts and APIs.
Proficiency in Go (or other low-level compiled languages).
Understanding of CI/CD and pipeline automation (e.g., Tekton or similar).
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Experience with Ansible.
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenStack.
Contributions to open-source projects.
Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools.

Nice-to-haves

Prior contributions related to Terraform/Crossplane providers, Kubernetes autoscaling, or Tekton pipelines (implied by the project scope).
