Staff Backend Engineer

Role Overview

Join Uniswap Labs as a Staff Backend Engineer (full remote). You’ll shape backend architecture and strategy, lead technical initiatives end-to-end, and help ensure Uniswap remains at the forefront of the crypto industry.

Key Missions

• Lead end-to-end technical projects, from ideation and requirements through design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Design and build resilient, large-scale systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Provide technical thought leadership and guide engineers through complex architectural and coding decisions.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality code and champion best practices across the engineering organization.
• Deliver projects independently, including system design and execution.
• Mentor and guide engineers to help them grow.
• Contribute to monitoring/observability practices for production systems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining large-scale, production systems.
• Proven ability to independently lead projects: requirements gathering, system design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Experience as a Technical Lead or similar leadership capacity.
• Strong coding skills with expertise in cloud architecture, distributed systems, and algorithms.
• Track record of mentoring/guiding engineers.
• 0→1 mindset: ability to build systems and processes from scratch.
• Prior experience with time-series monitoring and observability.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Knowledge of TypeScript, Go, GraphQL, and AWS.
