Staff Android Engineer

Role Overview

Staff Android Engineer to lead the evolution of Franki’s Android mobile platform. This is a senior, hands-on role combining architectural leadership, feature delivery, and mentorship to drive scalable, maintainable, and high-performing Android apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction and Android architecture for scalability, modularization, and maintainability.
• Develop high-quality features in Kotlin with clean, testable, well-documented code.
• Mentor engineers: drive code reviews and foster technical excellence.
• Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines using:
  • GitHub Actions
  • Firebase App Distribution
  • Fastlane
• Expand testing automation with strong unit/UI/integration coverage.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Backend to deliver user-first mobile experiences.
• Adopt and integrate new Android/iOS frameworks and tools to improve performance and development speed.
• Monitor and optimize app performance using Firebase Crashlytics and analytics data.
• Champion mobile best practices and contribute to modernization of the mobile architecture.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional Android development, including leadership/mentorship responsibilities.
• Expert in Kotlin and Jetpack components, with strong mobile architecture pattern knowledge.
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale modularized apps (multi-module structures).
• CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Firebase App Distribution, and Fastlane.
• Strong testing background: unit tests, UI tests, automated build workflows.
• Familiarity with Firebase Crashlytics, performance monitoring, and Play Store release processes.
• Passion for maintainable code and seamless user experiences.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
