About the role

Role Overview

Staff Android Developer responsible for building and maintaining high-quality Android applications with a focus on robustness, scalability, and performance. You will help set architectural direction and lead mobile Android development efforts in collaboration with technical leadership and product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain Android applications.
  • Collaborate with engineering technical leadership to define architectural direction aligned with strategic technical goals.
  • Lead Android development efforts while ensuring coding standards and best practices are followed.
  • Work with product management to define requirements and ensure technical feasibility.
  • Communicate technical concepts and challenges clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide realistic estimates for tasks and support sprint planning and release schedules.
  • Ensure development complies with healthcare industry standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA and data protection guidelines).
  • Document implementations and maintain record-keeping to support audits and compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate compliance and security risks in software design and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 4+ years developing high-quality Android mobile applications.
  • 2+ years in a lead mobile Android developer role with proven technical leadership and mentorship.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin (preferred) or Java.
  • Ability to independently drive technical projects from conception through deployment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience developing mobile apps in the healthcare industry.
  • Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter).
  • Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
