About the role

Role Overview

Bamboo Health is seeking a Staff Analytics Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of its analytics ecosystem. The role combines data visualization, analytics enablement, and data engineering, working closely with Analytics Visualization and Data Engineering teams and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and optimize advanced Tableau dashboards, workbooks, and user-facing data products.
Establish Tableau visualization standards, style guides, and reusable templates.
Design, optimize, and manage data pipelines that support reporting solutions.
Implement dashboard performance tuning (including extract optimization) and Hyper best practices.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Engineering, and Business teams to deliver scalable reporting solutions.
Perform design reviews, code reviews, and architecture assessments to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Support business-aligned projects and serve as the go-to technical expert for reporting components.
Identify repetitive workflows and partner on scalable automation; explore AI opportunities (e.g., document summarization, task routing, data parsing).

Success Metrics (Timeline)

3 months: Understand reporting offerings and customer use cases; learn data pipeline/architecture; build cross-team relationships; pilot at least one AI/automation idea.
6 months: Expand influence across cross-functional stakeholders; develop new reporting pipelines/capabilities aligned to user needs.
12 months: Become the technical expert across reporting for the product suite; guide improvements and boost reporting efficiency.

Requirements

7+ years of professional experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or related roles.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative/technical field (e.g., CS, math, statistics, economics); advanced degree is a plus.
Expert-level proficiency in Tableau, including dashboard creation, data source optimization, calculations, and performance.

Nice-to-haves (implied)

Experience optimizing pipelines and Tableau Hyper/ extracts for performance.
Demonstrated ability to lead standards/templates and act as a technical expert.
Interest/experience applying AI or automation to analytics workflows.
