About the role

Role Overview

Join Amplify as a Staff Analytics Engineer (full remote). You will partner with data scientists, analysts, data engineers, and software engineers to deliver clean, accurate, reliable models and metrics for product teams, while upholding privacy and security.

Key Missions

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to provide dependable models and metrics for products.
  • Design and build well-tested, documented ELT data pipelines for dbt models.
  • Participate in Agile rituals and lead collaboration, pull requests, and CI/CD processes.

Responsibilities

  • Create data solutions using tools such as Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, SQL, Python, and Cube.dev.
  • Build analytics/data modeling with strong attention to reuse, efficiency, and metrics correctness.
  • Support analytics consumption through dashboards, reports, and BI models.
  • Contribute to engineering knowledge sharing via written communication and technical documentation/training.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in computer, data, and analytics engineering.
  • Strong SQL expertise and practical use in code-based ETL frameworks (preferably dbt).
  • Expertise in analytical modeling architectures, including Kimball design.
  • 8+ years professional software development or data engineering experience.
  • dbt and Git experience, ideally with automation skills.
  • Expertise in ETL/ELT pipelines, analytical modeling, aggregations, and metrics.
  • Python fluency.
  • 3+ years building dashboards/reports/models in Tableau or Looker.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including engineering training documentation.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with metadata management tools such as Atlan.
  • Experience with other BI/tools such as Cube.dev and/or additional ETL tooling (e.g., Matillion, Fivetran).
  • Knowledge of education/EdTech domain.
  • Proven passion for learning and sharing (open source, pet projects, self-education).
