About the role

Role overview

Join Grafana Labs as a Staff AI Product Analyst (Product Management). In a highly cross-functional role, you will define KPIs, improve measurement practices, shape experiment design and evaluation, and translate data into recommendations that influence product decisions—supporting the AI team building Grafana Assistant, Investigations, and AI observability.

Key missions

Establish top-level KPIs, dashboards, and support product roadmap planning with cross-functional teams.
Define and track success metrics for AI-powered product experiences, including adoption, engagement, quality, retention, and user outcomes.
Guide instrumentation of product data with Product Design, Product Management, and Engineering teams to enable reliable analysis of AI features and workflows.

Responsibilities (implied)

Lead measurement strategy for AI product areas (metrics definitions, dashboards, KPI tracking).
Support product decision-making through analysis and experimentation.
Work with engineering/design to ensure AI feature instrumentation supports accurate analysis.

Requirements

Proficiency using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to prototype and iterate across analysis, data modeling, instrumentation, visualization, and code.
Data visualization experience with tools such as Tableau, Looker, Omni, Hex, or Grafana.
Strong SQL skills, writing complex and efficient queries as a daily habit.
Experience writing dbt models and using product analytics tooling (e.g., Heap, Pendo, Amplitude, FullStory), plus Git for version control.
Cross-functional partnership experience across product and engineering; familiarity with common product KPI frameworks such as DAU/MAU, funnels, and A/B testing.
Experience defining and tracking success metrics for complex product areas, ideally including AI-powered features/workflows.
Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
Knowledge about observability.
Familiarity with Airflow or Prefect.
Ability to generate ad hoc ETL jobs.

Nice-to-haves

Prior experience specifically in AI-powered product measurement and observability/AI workflows.
Deep familiarity with observability domain concepts and tooling ecosystems.
