About the role

Role Overview

Join SentinelOne as a Staff AI Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate the company’s enterprise AI platform. You’ll work with the Sr. Director of Enterprise AI Platform Engineering and the platform team to deliver components of the AI Gateway and the Harness layer, contribute to Claude/Gemini Enterprise plugin frameworks, and improve platform observability.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate AI Gateway components, including centralized identity and authentication/authorization.
Develop and extend production services in Python using FastAPI and pydantic.ai for LLM-powered components.
Instrument the platform for observability, including metrics, tracing, and audit logs.
Contribute to Claude and Gemini Enterprise plugin framework capabilities.
Partner with engineers across teams to integrate platform components with multiple consumers.
Assist with governance challenges such as administering access and controlling tool use.

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience building/operating AI/ML infrastructure in production.
Practical experience with agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph or equivalent) and calling hosted model providers such as AWS Bedrock or Google Vertex.
Strong Python skills; ideally FastAPI and familiarity with pydantic.ai for LLM components.
Ability to build production services in front of multiple consumers (API gateway/internal/data platform).
Hands-on experience with authentication/authorization, rate limiting, observability, and audit logging.
Strong software engineering fundamentals: clean, tested, production-grade code; solid API design; effective code/architecture review collaboration.
Experience operating in a fast-moving environment and turning rough architectures into reliable infrastructure.

Nice to Have

Working familiarity with React and TypeScript.
Experience with enterprise AI deployments such as Claude Enterprise (Anthropic) or Gemini Enterprise.
Exposure to the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and governance of agent tool access.

Location / Work Model

Full remote (US; New York listed).
