About the role
Role Overview
Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) focused on automation, reliability tooling, and incident response for XBOW’s production systems. You’ll keep systems stable, observable, and resilient as the product scales, while collaborating closely with infrastructure and feature teams.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated reliability tooling, including monitoring, alerting, and self-healing.
- Define and own Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for production and development deployments.
- Manage production and development systems using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in collaboration with infrastructure engineering.
- Participate in incident response via a “follow the sun” on-call model (respond to in-hours alerts).
- Lead or contribute to Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) with feature teams.
- Analyze incident trends (cause, frequency, severity) to reduce future risk.
- Review architectural changes for scalability, reliability, and capacity planning.
- Maintain public and internal status/uptime dashboards.
Requirements
- Strong experience with TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with AWS.
- Strong expertise in Linux.
- Experience with DevOps/infrastructure tooling, including:
- Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines (notably GitHub Actions).
- Background in infrastructure automation and/or incident response.
- Familiarity with observability tooling such as:
- OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, Datadog.
Advantageous
- Experience with Python and/or Go.
- Experience with cloud providers beyond AWS.
