SRE / DevOps Engineer

Role: SRE / DevOps Engineer (Developer-Experience)

You’ll join Kraken’s Developer-Experience (DX) team to make software development, shipping, and operations more effortless and efficient. The team works closely with product and engineering to remove friction in the development lifecycle through tooling, streamlined processes, documentation, and data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

• Build and support infrastructure and developer tooling, both on-prem and in the cloud
• Drive standardization by authoring RFCs and internal guides for:
  • process improvements
  • reliability patterns and best practices
• Support and guide engineers on SRE topics
• Partner with product-development teams to identify and eliminate development-cycle friction

Requirements

• 3+ years in a DevOps role (DevOps/SRE/etc.)
• 3+ years experience with a systems programming language (e.g., Rust)
• Proficient with Git source control
• Strong knowledge of Docker
• Hands-on experience with Terraform
• Ability to configure Continuous Integration (CI)
• Experience with monitoring and alerting, primarily using Prometheus/Grafana, plus relevant best practices
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, team-based environment
• Ability to independently debug issues involving networking and the operating system
• Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash and/or Python)
• Ability to build and administer Linux systems
• Interest in security and careful consideration of security implications of engineering decisions
