About the role
Role overview
Senior UI/UX Designer responsible for end-to-end, hands-on UX and UI design across complex software systems. You’ll act as a UX subject matter expert, shaping intuitive, accessible, user-centered experiences through research, prototyping, testing, and scalable design systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end UX/UI design activities: discovery, user research, personas, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.
- Create and deliver UX research plans; synthesize findings into actionable insights, hypotheses, and design recommendations.
- Run discovery and evaluation activities including:
- User interviews
- Stakeholder workshops
- Content analysis
- Accessibility reviews
- Design and refine interfaces with a focus on usability, accessibility (including Section 508 compliance), and consistency across applications.
- Build and maintain UX frameworks, design standards, and reusable templates to enable scalability.
- Translate research into deliverables such as epics, user stories, workflows, and detailed functional/technical specifications.
- Create interactive prototypes and complex UI components (e.g., cards, dashboards, dynamic forms, drag-and-drop interfaces).
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, product owners, and cross-functional stakeholders to align UX needs with technical execution.
- Conduct usability testing and iterate designs based on feedback.
- Communicate design decisions through documentation, presentations, and storytelling.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field.
- 5+ years of UX/UI or software design experience (10+ years preferred depending on education).
- Strong human-centered design and design thinking skills, including UX research methodologies (personas, journey mapping, usability studies).
- Hands-on proficiency with Figma and usability testing platforms.
- Front-end proficiency: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with ReactJS.
- Strong accessibility knowledge, including Section 508 compliance.
- Experience working in agile environments (SAFe or similar) with cross-functional teams.
- Experience designing scalable, responsive interfaces including dynamic forms and interactive components.
- Strong portfolio showing UX strategy, UI design, prototyping, and research-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
