Sr. Solutions Engineer

Role overview

As a Senior Solutions Engineer at vCluster, you act as the technical architect behind enterprise customer success—especially for complex, multi-stakeholder deals. You sit at the intersection of Sales and Engineering, leading the “Technical Win” while defining the Kubernetes virtualization category.

Responsibilities

• Complex opportunity leadership: Own the technical strategy for large-scale enterprise engagements.
• Partner with Account Executives: Create tailored narratives for highly regulated industries addressing compliance, security, and operational concerns.
• Business Value Engineering: Build formal Business Value Assessments (BVAs) connecting vCluster capabilities to measurable outcomes (e.g., cost savings, risk reduction, developer velocity).
• AI-native workflow adoption: Use LLMs to analyze requirements, accelerate discovery documentation, draft architecture diagrams, and speed GTM delivery with a human-in-the-loop approach.
• Mentorship & SE process improvements: Coach Associate/Intermediate SEs; identify gaps in qualification frameworks (e.g., MEDDPICC); design PoV templates to scale effectiveness.
• Voice of the customer: Feed field learnings into Product and Engineering and translate enterprise pain into high-fidelity technical requirements.

Requirements

• 6+ years experience in pre-sales or solutions engineering, successfully positioning complex infrastructure/platform solutions to enterprise buyers.
• 3+ years hands-on Kubernetes experience.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals such as control planes, namespaces, and cluster API, including trade-offs between legacy multi-tenancy and virtualization.
• Consultative, data-driven mindset (avoid broad, untargeted “spray-and-pray” demo tactics).
• Ability to anticipate market trends and identify complex entry points in large enterprises.

Bonus qualifications

• CKA or CKAD certification and active participation in CNCF or open-source ecosystems.
• Deep experience navigating technical hurdles in Financial Services, Healthcare, or Public Sector.
• Comfort with modern, automation- and AI-driven sales motions.
