Sr. Software Engineer, (Web/Mobile)

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer (Web/Mobile) on the Customer Retention team at Hims & Hers. You will lead technical design and implementation of scalable, high-performance front-end experiences across web and mobile, collaborating with cross-functional partners and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own front-end architecture & design for scalable, performant web and mobile solutions that meet product requirements and improve UX.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship on best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.
• Advocate for your team’s technical needs and priorities within the broader engineering organization.
• Participate in product discovery: assess feasibility, understand user needs, define features, and validate ideas with prototypes/experiments.
• Collaborate with UX/UI to build intuitive interfaces that address user pain points.
• Work with backend and platform teams to ensure seamless integration with underlying services.
• Contribute as a technical leader: identify front-end technologies and investments to improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
• Break down complex initiatives into clear, actionable tasks.
• Implement front-end observability in Datadog, including:
  • Real User Monitoring (RUM)
  • Crash reporting
  • Client-side error tracking
• Elevate engineering standards through improved workflows/processes/tools.
• Analyze performance metrics and user feedback to drive optimizations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for architecture and development processes.
• Lead code reviews and participate in knowledge-sharing.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks (e.g., render performance, bundle size, mobile memory/battery usage).
• Stay current with industry trends and propose innovative platform improvements.
• Support hiring by assisting with interviews and onboarding.
• Coach junior engineers and model a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years as a software engineer shipping production code.
• 3+ years building React Native applications for iOS and Android, including app store release processes.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent professional experience).
