Sr. Software Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer to join Synctera’s Cable team. You’ll build core platform capabilities in Go, delivering backend services that support financial compliance and banking operations at scale.

Responsibilities

• Build, ship, and operate production backend services in Go with reliability and correctness requirements.
• Design systems for high-volume, event-driven data with clear audit trails and reproducible behavior.
• Extend and improve existing platform capabilities while avoiding unnecessary complexity.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to turn ambiguous financial-services problems into concrete solutions.
• Build customer-facing AI features using LLMs/ML for compliance use cases, focusing on evaluation, latency, cost, and production failure handling.
• Improve engineering quality through technical judgment and mentoring.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience building and operating production backend systems in Go.
• Hands-on production experience with PostgreSQL (or another relational database).
• Experience designing/maintaining event-driven or data-intensive systems.
• Experience in environments where correctness, auditability, and reproducibility matter.
• Experience shipping a customer-facing AI feature to production, or owning a production AI workflow with real users and measurable outcomes.
• Comfortable working on small teams with broad ownership and high expectations for judgment.
