Sr. Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Role Overview

Pilot is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure to join its Infrastructure team. The team builds scalable infrastructure building blocks that accelerate product development, owning the full infrastructure stack from AWS to the product platform used by product engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and deploy software continuously (deploy daily or more often)
• Create and contribute to technical specs and testing/rollout plans
• Collaborate with internal customers and stakeholders to solve the right problems
• Mentor and sponsor teammates to support their growth
• Work across teams to shape the future of engineering at Pilot
• Support deployed services and software as needed

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
• Production experience with Python
• Experience with infrastructure tooling such as Terraform and AWS
• Familiarity with the frontend ecosystem and frontend infrastructure tools
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions
• Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills
• Ability to write well-structured, well-tested, maintainable code
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and teach others

Nice to Have / Preferred

• Generalist comfort working across the full infrastructure stack
• A product-platform bent and full-stack familiarity (backend + frontend context)
