Sr. Software Engineer

Role Overview

HHAeXchange is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and enhance its caregiver platform. The role focuses on building scalable, secure, and reliable backend services and APIs for the healthcare domain, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend services, APIs, and integrations for caregiver platform capabilities.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, reliable, high-performing solutions.
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews to uphold engineering standards and security best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, architects, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventative improvements.
• Drive platform modernization, including cloud-native architectures, microservices, and automation.
• Implement secure coding practices and support healthcare compliance (privacy, regulations, security standards).
• Monitor and optimize performance, reliability, scalability, and operational health.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend development in a product-focused organization.
• Experience designing/building/delivering large-scale, high-performance, highly available backend services and distributed systems.
• 2+ years experience in the healthcare domain, including understanding of healthcare systems, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, including microservices and serverless / cloud-native patterns.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET and Python, building and operating high-volume, production-grade APIs and services.

Nice to Have

• Strong understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL (text cuts off mid-word).
• Staying current with emerging technologies and healthcare/software engineering best practices.

Location / Work Setup

• Fully remote for candidates located in the US only, within EST or CST time zones.
• Travel up to 10%, including overnight travel.
