Sr. Software Engineer (Front-End, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, AI)

Role overview

Senior Software Engineer (Front-End) at Alteryx, building and scaling AI-powered frontend experiences across the Alteryx portfolio. You will work on conversational and agentic surfaces (e.g., Copilot), workflow-native AI tools in Designer, and emerging extensibility experiences connected to MCP and AI-ready product APIs.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver high-value frontend features across Copilot, GenAI Tools, and other embedded AI experiences.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineers to define requirements, shape implementation plans, and ship improvements.
• Build and evolve reusable UI patterns for conversational experiences, workflow-native AI tooling, context-aware workflows, and product integration flows.
• Partner with backend/platform/domain teams on AI-ready APIs, telemetry, and MCP-oriented integration points.
• Contribute to frontend architecture, software design, code reviews, testing strategy, telemetry, and engineering practices.
• Mentor engineers through feedback, pairing, and technical collaboration.
• Help the team respond to new AI opportunities while balancing performance, quality, and long-term maintainability.

Requirements

• 4+ years building production web applications using TypeScript/JavaScript, including 2+ years with React and modern frontend patterns.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, browser behavior, accessibility, and delivering polished UX.
• Ability to independently own features/medium-sized projects end-to-end (design → implementation → testing → rollout → iteration).
• Experience integrating frontend systems with backend APIs and service-oriented architectures.
• Strong experience writing high-performing, maintainable, testable code.
• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end).
• Working knowledge of CI/CD and modern development workflows (e.g., GitLab or GitHub).
• Ability to collaborate effectively in ambiguous problem spaces.
