About the role
Role Overview
Senior Software Engineer (Estimate) at Higharc. You’ll help build Estimate, a product that converts generative building designs into instant, reliable material takeoffs, reducing estimating from days to minutes.
What You’ll Do
- Work across a large surface area of the product:
- Optimize queries (including SQL performance)
- Build React components and frontend state patterns
- Write end-to-end (E2E) tests
- Integrate external APIs
- Occasionally work in CAD/geometry layers
- Own projects end-to-end:
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define solutions
- Translate requirements into actionable engineering work
- Communicate risks and opportunities early
- Maintain high code quality through:
- Risk-based testing strategy
- Thoughtful code reviews
About You (Requirements)
- Full-stack generalist mindset; comfortable across the codebase
- Strong TypeScript/JavaScript fundamentals
- Solid experience with:
- React
- Node.js
- REST APIs
- SQL
- Enjoys exploring unknown territory, taking initiative when requirements are ambiguous
- Track record of owning features end-to-end and enabling others
- Drawn to software for the built world (industry experience not required)
Nice to Have
- Experience with graphics, geometry, or spatial programming
