About the role
Role Overview
Sr. Back-End Serverless Developer to design and build serverless back-end systems for GraphQL APIs in AWS.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain GraphQL APIs using TypeScript with AWS API Gateway, Lambda, and DynamoDB
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK and AWS SDK
- Deploy releases and hotfixes to production environments
- Debug issues across production and development environments (including root cause analysis)
- Implement unit/integration tests for features and bug fixes
- Collaborate with front-end engineers and product stakeholders to deliver robust, maintainable systems
- Apply AWS best practices for security, performance, monitoring, and cost optimization
- Participate in code reviews, support engineering standards, and drive continuous improvement
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional back-end development experience
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript
- Experience with GraphQL and schema design
- Hands-on experience with AWS DynamoDB, API Gateway, Lambda, and EventBridge
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, API design, serverless architecture, and database design
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control workflows
- Ability to perform root cause analysis for application issues
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum with cross-functional teams
Preferred (Nice-to-Haves)
- DynamoDB Single Table Design
- OpenSearch and Amazon SageMaker for ML model deployment/integration
- AWS CodePipeline for CI/CD automation
- Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- FedRAMP (or other related certification) knowledge
Location & Work Model
- U.S. remote, with infrequent office visits (typically quarterly) and one in-person interview.

Compensation
- Base salary: $110,000 - $170,000 (final comp depends on geography, experience, and qualifications).
