Sr. Site Reliability Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Site Reliability Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure and systems that power PayNearMe applications. You’ll apply a software engineering approach to operations to improve reliability, scalability, and performance through automation and continuous infrastructure improvements.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure management: Design and maintain scalable, resilient infrastructure using Terraform; ensure high availability and performance.
• Kubernetes & containers: Deploy, manage, and optimize Kubernetes clusters and Docker-based containerized applications.
• Monitoring & observability: Build and maintain observability with Datadog; ensure visibility into system and application health.
• SLO/SLA management: Define, monitor, and maintain SLOs and SLAs.
• Incident response: Respond to incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and drive prevention through post-incident reviews and blameless postmortems.
• Production reliability: Continuously assess and improve production environment stability; identify and mitigate failure points.
• Automation & scripting: Create automation using Python, Bash, or Go.
• CI/CD pipeline management: Improve continuous integration and deployment using GitLab CI.
• Capacity planning & scaling: Support capacity planning and implement auto-scaling where applicable.
• Security & compliance: Apply security best practices and maintain compliance with industry standards.
• Collaboration & support: Partner with development teams and provide infrastructure-related technical support.
• Ops tooling: Develop internal tools and services that improve operational efficiency and reliability.
• On-call: Participate in on-call rotation and incident response efforts.

Requirements

• +3 years of experience (posting text cuts off after this point).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience operating and improving production reliability for large, high-availability platforms (inferred from responsibilities).
