About the role
Role Overview
Senior Security Engineer I – Enterprise Security will build, operate, and maintain Samsara’s core enterprise security infrastructure. You’ll work with a global engineering team to develop a security engineering program using modern principles, focusing on low-friction solutions and automated detection/response.
Responsibilities
- Provide influence and leadership over the Enterprise Security roadmap and priorities, balancing near- and long-term impact.
- Build and maintain enterprise security workflows and supporting runbooks/documentation.
- Collaborate with partners across Engineering, IT, and Security to implement security tools and policies.
- Support the Security Operations team during investigations as a domain technical subject matter expert.
- Partner with engineering teams to triage and remediate vulnerabilities and misconfigurations in systems and applications.
- Mentor Security team engineers to grow domain knowledge and security instincts.
Requirements
- Strong security engineering background with ownership of security infrastructure and programs.
- Ability to create automation for alerting and response and drive insights from potentially malicious activity in production.
- Experience building tools/workflows and threading security into company processes.

Remote / Location
Remote role open to candidates residing in CA, HI, OR, NV, and WA, excluding the San Francisco Bay Area Metro. No relocation assistance.
