Sr. Quality Engineer

Role Overview

Versant Media is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to help deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable products. The role focuses on hands-on testing, test automation, and AI-enabled quality engineering to identify how software can fail before customers do.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test strategies across:
  • functional testing
  • integration testing
  • API testing
  • end-to-end testing
• Perform exploratory and risk-based testing to find risks, edge cases, and failure points
• Build and maintain automated regression (including smoke tests) and cover critical user flows
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality validation
• Partner with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and Security to embed quality across the development lifecycle
• Support defect triage, release readiness, and quality risk assessments
• Use AI tools to improve test creation, maintenance, analysis, and overall productivity

Requirements

• 5+ years in Software Testing, Quality Engineering, or SDET-related roles
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as:
  • Selenium
  • Cypress
  • Playwright
• API testing experience with tools such as Postman or RestAssured
• CI/CD tooling experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
• Strong understanding of SDLC, test strategy, and Agile development practices
• Proven ability to uncover critical defects via manual and automated testing
• Experience leveraging AI tools for quality engineering efficiency

Bonus / Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AI-driven testing tools
• Exposure to cloud-native environments: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Performance testing experience
• Experience with microservices, event-driven systems, or payment platform testing

Remote Policy / Location

• Fully remote (expected to work from a non-Versant location, typically the employee’s residence)
• Occasional travel (within the country typically; global not typical)
