Sr. QA Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Quality Assurance Test Automation Engineer for a cloud-native, AWS-based big data analytics platform. You will design, develop, and implement automated testing solutions, working in an agile product team with engineers, data scientists, end users, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and test scripts for cloud-based applications.
• Create test plans and strategies to validate cloud infrastructure, services, complex data, and apps across multiple environments.
• Monitor and analyze test results to find patterns and improve both the product and the testing approach.
• Build reusable test data/test artifacts; support planning and estimation (Scrum ceremonies).
• Execute end-to-end testing including requirement validation, integration, regression, API, performance, and usability testing.
• Perform load, performance, and scalability testing; use results to drive enhancements.
• Troubleshoot with engineers and validate fixes to ensure quality across the development lifecycle.
• Provide technical thought leadership across QA, development, data engineering, architecture, operations, and data science.
• Contribute via peer test-script reviews, defect remediation, and defect/status tracking.
• Mentor QA peers to improve testing processes and cloud-native test capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years experience with:
  • Writing/analyzing complex data queries and automation scripts for testing
  • Relational SQL, especially Redshift
  • Java, Selenium, Python, JupyterLab
  • Testing tools such as Jira and Xray
  • AWS cloud services including EC2, S3, RDS, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, SageMaker, QuickSight, Config, Security Hub, Inspector
  • Performance and API testing tools such as Postman and Gatling
• Knowledge of IaC tools

Preferred

• Security testing methodologies for cloud environments.

Interview Process & Logistics

• 1st round: 60 minutes
• 2nd round: 30 minutes (before travel)
• Final interview: in person
• Non-local candidates must travel to St. Louis, MO for PI planning cycles every 2 months (about 3 days); expenses covered.

• Must be USC (U.S. Citizen).
