Sr. QA Engineer

Role Overview

Senior QA Engineer (Sr. QA Engineer) to join Agero’s remote engineering team, supporting development of the next-generation Swoop Platform. You’ll help ensure high-impact software quality across platform, web/mobile, APIs, and validation of complex machine learning models.

Key Outcomes / Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust test automation frameworks and scripts across multiple projects.
• Write automation scripts following established coding guidelines and conventions.
• Create and execute comprehensive test cases and plans using test management tools.
• Ensure test cases map to functional requirements and produce a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to understand requirements and communicate QA status and risks.
• Follow QA best practices by filing detailed bug reports (with accurate reproduction steps and supporting artifacts like recordings).
• Identify and reproduce production defects.
• Own the end-to-end testing lifecycle for the platform.
• Participate in system design and architecture discussions to inform quality trade-offs.
• Communicate risks, status, and decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Thrive in a fully remote environment using effective rituals, trust, and accountability.

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years in software engineering and quality assurance.
• Ability to build trust and maintain accountability in a distributed/remote environment.
• Proficiency in one of: Ruby, Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
• Experience with Cucumber and one or more of: Selenium, Capybara, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Proven experience testing web and mobile applications, including maintaining web automation scripts.
• Strong experience testing APIs (with GraphQL preferred).
