Sr. Product Manager (Remote USA)

Lead product strategy and roadmap for LONGi Energy Storage’s 3S portfolio—PCS (Power Conversion Systems), BMS (Battery Management Systems), and EMS (Energy Management Systems)—for the North America market.

Responsibilities

PCS & Grid Compatibility

• Own the PCS product roadmap for North America, aligning to regional regulatory and utility interconnection requirements, including:
  • UL, IEEE, NEC, NERC, ANSI
  • IEEE 1547 and Rule 21
• Define system-level requirements for BESS applications (e.g., peak shaving, frequency regulation, black start, capacity firming) with system integrators and EPCs.
• Incorporate commercial policy considerations such as IRA/DOE incentive programs and FEOC implications.
• Perform market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and customer discovery for utility-scale, C&I, and microgrid segments.
• Work with R&D, hardware engineering, and firmware to translate needs into product specifications (power ratings, efficiency curves, grid-forming capabilities, protection schemes).
• Drive the full product lifecycle: concept → launch, including go-to-market, pricing, and sales enablement.
• Manage North American product positioning against competitors.

EMS (Energy Management Systems)

• Build the EMS roadmap for C&I and utility-grade applications in North America.
• Define EMS-to-PCS integration requirements and communication protocols:
  • Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, SunSpec, OCPP
• Partner with data/analytics to enable ROI-focused features (automated dispatch, demand response, wholesale market participation).
• Gather input from integrators, EPCs, and fleet operators on usability, reporting, and remote monitoring.

Grid Integration Strategy

• Develop grid-edge strategies for VPP, DERM, and grid-forming inverter deployments.
• Track standards and market rules across PJM, CAISO, MISO, ERCOT and utility tariff structures to set development priorities.
• Collaborate with utilities and ISOs/RTOs to shape service capabilities.
• Support advanced grid service feature development: synthetic inertia, voltage/VAR support, droop control, and islanding/resynchronization.

Requirements

• BS degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years experience in energy storage, power systems, EV, or industrial equipment.
• Deep technical knowledge of power conversion topologies (three-phase, bidirectional) and North American standards (IEEE 1547, UL 1741, NEC Article 705).
• Experience owning product roadmaps and launching utility-scale or C&I energy storage / solar-plus-storage products.
• Familiarity with BESS system architecture (BMS hierarchy, DC/AC coupling) and safety certifications (UL 9540, NFPA 855).
• Knowledge of EMS/SCADA architectures and industrial communication protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, IEC 61850, MQTT).
• Strong analytical skills to turn market, financial, and customer insights into product decisions.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, marketing, and executives.
