Sr. iOS Engineer - Mobile Platform(Remote Or Hybrid)

Role Overview

Senior iOS Engineer on Target’s Mobile Platform team (Flagship Mobile Apps). You’ll act as a specialist who advances the iOS application architecture, influences design, and helps build robust, scalable systems for Target’s guest-facing shopping apps.

Responsibilities

• Advance iOS architecture and abstractions to help the codebase scale and enable feature teams to ship with greater autonomy.
• Drive adoption of modern Swift Concurrency (async/await, structured concurrency, actors) to improve safety, readability, and performance.
• Improve and maintain mobile CI/CD infrastructure and pipelines.
• Develop clean, well-tested code supporting broader engineering team needs.
• Build and maintain developer tools that improve productivity and workflow for feature teams.
• Create shared libraries/foundations across build tooling, testing, analytics, networking, and logging.
• Solicit feedback to enhance the overall developer experience (DX).
• Mentor junior iOS engineers on coding and design best practices.
• Provide high-level tooling support to feature teams during working hours.

Requirements

• Senior-level expertise in iOS engineering and the ability to design and implement architecture.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering patterns for scalable, robust systems.
• Expert programming skills and the ability to influence implementation through proposals, reviews, and feedback.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including triaging operational issues.

• Experience contributing to an iOS platform team supporting a large, complex iOS codebase.
• Interest in AI-assisted development and integrating generative AI tools to improve productivity and developer experience.
