Sr. Golang Developer (Kafka)_In-person Intervew

Role Overview

Sr. Golang Developer (Kafka) for backend services powering the Stargazer automation platform in the Media & Entertainment domain. The role starts remotely but will be onsite later, based in Los Angeles, CA, for a 12-month project.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services for the Stargazer automation platform.
• Treat reliability as a core feature: own error budgets, aggressively hunt down errors, and prevent antipatterns that hide problems.
• Ensure errors are tracked and instrumentation/observability is up to date and integrated with in-house incident management.
• Champion sound system engineering practices while collaborating with stakeholders and product managers.
• Contribute to scaling a high-throughput automation platform powering streaming pipelines.

Requirements

• Hands-on production experience with Golang (primary language).
• Experience with Kafka and backend service development.
• Familiarity with Java, GraphQL APIs, MongoDB, Redis, and CQRS architecture.
• SRE mindset, including implementing and enforcing error budgets.
• Observability and resilience experience at scale.
• Kubernetes/cloud variant experience: GKE, OCI, and ArgoCD.
• Experience with ELK stack for observability.
• Exposure to NoSQL systems (e.g., ScyllaDB or MongoDB beyond primary expertise).
• Strong communication skills across engineering, product, and operations.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Ray Serve or other LLM serving frameworks.
• Contributions to streaming pipelines and automation workflows.

Interview Process

• 2 client rounds (one in-person required)
