About the role
Role Overview
Senior Full-Stack Developer to support the VA T4NG CCSS program for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. You will build and modernize VA-provided applications, focusing on Angular (including upgrades) and Java-based backend services.
Responsibilities
- Plan system and software deployments while meeting software compliance standards.
- Design and develop new application features in VA-provided systems.
- Build and maintain reusable, reliable Java code; develop Java APIs and backend services.
- Implement microservices and REST APIs (Spring Boot) and support backend functionality.
- Design UI components/graphical interfaces as needed for user requirements.
- Conduct analysis, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting (including bug fixes).
- Provide guidance and best practices for successful Angular upgrades/modernizations.
- Perform unit testing, debugging, and performance optimization; identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Prepare and produce software component releases.
- Document development processes and codebase structure; ensure software standards are met.
- Communicate regularly with colleagues involved across development activities.
Requirements
- 5–8 years (or equivalent) of experience.
- Angular experience: at least 18 months, including Angular 2+ (minimum requirement indicates 2 years).
- Strong proficiency in Java and core OOP concepts.
- Basic HTML5/CSS3.
- JavaScript 5.x, TypeScript 4.x.
- Bootstrap 5.x and jQuery 3.6.x.
- MS SQL Server skills: stored procedures, SQL, table creation, and database management.
- Visual Studio experience (2019–2022).
- Git.
- Windows Azure.
- C# (for project work/design/implementation).
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with the VA.
- Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience supporting program goals and collaborating with other project leaders.
- PowerBI, CI/CD, APIs, IIS, SSRS.
Clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
Salary
- USD $110,000 – $120,000 per year.
