About the role
Role Overview
Sr Frontend Software Engineer for Publix.com on a hybrid (Lakeland, FL) agile team. You will design and develop customer-facing web features for Publix.com, collaborating with cross-functional partners to improve user experiences and operational workflows.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web solutions using Node.js, Next.js, React, and Sitecore CMS
- Design and develop features on Publix.com
- Participate in agile/Scrum events
- Join architecture and design discussions with cross-functional team members
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality
- Lead engineering initiatives when needed
- Maintain, improve, and document systems
- Provide after-hours support when required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years designing, developing, and supporting customer-facing e-commerce websites and APIs
- 5+ years CSS/HTML/JavaScript
- 3+ years using frontend JavaScript frameworks
- 2+ years with React.js
- 2+ years building websites running on Node.js
- 1+ years experience with Agile/Scrum software development
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years e-commerce website and API experience
- Experience with Git and Microsoft Azure DevOps
- Experience with Next.js
- Experience with unit testing and automation frameworks
- Experience building scalable systems and performance tuning
- Experience with analytics/feature flag/experimentation tools (e.g., Google Tag Manager, Optimizely, LaunchDarkly, Adobe Analytics)
- Ability to meet accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA)
