About the role

Role Overview

Sr. Frontend Engineer (React) to lead the technical direction of modern React applications powering enterprise-scale digital solutions. You’ll combine hands-on development with technical leadership, guiding distributed teams while delivering scalable, accessible, high-performance user interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Lead frontend architecture for enterprise web applications; set best practices for React development, component design, state management, and scalability.
  • Mentor and oversee a distributed team of frontend engineers (assign work, review code, promote engineering excellence, support growth).
  • Build and maintain reusable component libraries and design systems for consistency, maintainability, and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with UX designers to turn wireframes/prototypes into responsive, accessible UIs.
  • Integrate with secure REST APIs and implement authentication/RBAC patterns aligned with enterprise identity solutions.
  • Ensure frontend quality via automated testing, secure development practices, CI/CD compliance, and defect resolution.
  • Participate in sprint planning, technical discussions, stakeholder demos, and knowledge transfer.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with architects, backend engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of frontend development; at least 4 years with React using functional components, Hooks, Context API, and performance optimization.
  • Proven experience leading or mentoring frontend teams, including distributed/offshore coordination.
  • Strong skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend architecture.
  • Experience building reusable component libraries and enterprise design systems (e.g., from Figma).
  • Solid understanding of REST integration, authentication, RBAC, and enterprise security best practices.
  • Experience with AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor).
  • Familiarity with automated testing (e.g., Playwright, Storybook).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and security scanning tools.
  • Knowledge of Material UI, React Router, RTK Query, Azure APIM, Azure App Services, or enterprise financial platforms.

Location / Work Model

  • Fully remote within the United States with occasional client travel as needed.
