About the role

Role Overview

Senior UI/UX Frontend Software Developer supporting Federal Government clients, preferably within DoD or the Intelligence Community. Work is primarily remote with hybrid requirements and occasional travel to secured classified facilities.

Responsibilities

Develop and enhance responsive web applications for legacy and modernized systems
Translate user needs into effective UI/UX and frontend solutions
Collaborate with product management, designers, and engineering to deliver UI/UX improvements
Execute visual design from concept to final engineering hand-off
Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps; present milestones to stakeholders
Conduct user research and iterate designs based on feedback
Establish and promote UI/UX design guidelines, best practices, and standards
Analyze user needs and optimize operational efficiency through customized software solutions
Support application development including collaboration on database design as needed
Help support and consume/update RESTful APIs

Requirements (Must Have)

Active or recent DoD TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly
9+ years of professional UI/UX and frontend development experience
Hands-on frontend development with Vue.js
Strong UI/UX design-to-development experience with a portfolio
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
Ability to work hybrid and occasionally visit DC/VA/MD secured facilities for classified work

Nice to Have

Prior experience supporting DoD / Intelligence Community programs
Experience aligning user behavior, mission needs, and business goals to technical solutions
Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and responsive design
Experience creating/modifying/upgrading graphical user interfaces (GUI)
Familiarity with SQL and basic database design
Ability to implement user stories independently with minimal supervision
Experience with additional frontend technologies such as TypeScript, jQuery, or Python

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
